It is impossible to overestimate the importance of methodical and systematic self-assessment to boost students' confidence in their command of the language. At Ruenigma, we take it extremely seriously: our standardised tests are updated every 2-3 months so that our students can appreciate their development from various perspectives.

When embarking on any Ruenigma's Russian course, you are strongly recommended to take our preliminary test which will rank your current position on the Russian language proficiency scale. The test comprises 60 multiple-choice questions ranging from A1 to C1 levels. The results of the test above can be deciphered as follows:

0 - 15 points - lower A1 level. Students at this level would be encouraged to join our 5-days 101 intensive course to fill in all the lacunae in their previous Russian studies and regain their confidence for further development. Or, alternatively, our 12-week A1 course could help you step even further through just a brief revision to a brave move ahead to Russian fluency.

16 - 25 points - upper A1. Well done! It's highly likely that you can already tell quite a few things about yourself and participate in some basic conversation in Russian. This would be the right time for you to upgrade to our A2 course so that you could develop some crucial language skills within the next 6 months which would allow you to freely socialise with Russians in day-to-day situations. This would turn you into an accomplished communicator, whether you travel through Russian vastness or spend some quality time with your Russian in-laws.

26 - 55 points - upper A2 - lower B1. Congratulations! It shows that you've been working hard on your Russian! We'd be proud to take you on board our 9-month-long interactive B1 programme to assist you in ascending the first academic level in Russian (TORFL I/TRKI I). This would allow you to enter a Russian university as well as to communicate in a work environment with confidence. We also have plenty of online activities in store for you including our Comedy Nights and Reading Club.

56 - 100 points - upper B1 - lower B2. You are a star! Keep it up! We believe you are just a few academic consultations away from your TORFL I/ TRKI I certificate. And we'd be delighted to assist you on this journey if you haven't already completed it!
