The last century was the most tragic period in Russia's over-thousand-year history. As we believe, until these days, the country has not managed to recover from the anthropological experiments inflicted upon it by its poor leadership and devastating social gaps. During Russia's Civil War that took place between 1917 and 1922, the country lost over 80% of its establishment and academia. Some emigrated, some were killed. The documented facts depicting the horrors of those days are inconceivable for the modern Western world.

"The Heart of a Dog" is a phantasmagoria that will help you fathom the savage absurd of the Russian Revolution without having to plunge into the crucible of fratricide.

The recommended level of proficiency for this group is B2 or higher, however, if one finds one's mind satisfyingly quick and agile, one could consider joining the group even if one's proficiency level is slightly lower.

As always, the text read at the sessions will be the non-adapted original, and all the instructions for upcoming sessions along with the bilingual PDFs and audio files will be forwarded to the participants 1 week prior to each session. The sessions are conducted in Russian, questions asked in English are accepted and answered in either English or Russian depending on the situation.

The sessions will be recorded for the use of the participants who have to skip, provided our staff is given at least 2-hour notice so that we can secure the software availability.

Upon the successful completion of the student's participation in the group, digital certificates will be issued to celebrate and share the achievement.

There will be 3 reading groups for "The Heart of a Dog" commencing in August'21. The number of participants in each group will never exceed 12 attendees. Please see below for the times and dates, and don't forget to check the time zone!
